History

The Journal of Management & Business (Mabis journal) is a scientific periodical journal managed by the Management Department of the University of Surabaya's Faculty of Business and Economics. Mabis journal was launched on May 29, 2007, with ID no. 1180429329. In 2010, Mabis was once accredited journal with the Higher Education Decree No: 51/Dikti/Kep/2010. Jul 5 in printed form with ISSN number 1412-3789. In some volumes, Mabis published articles from foreign writers.

Mabis also translates all articles to English. In 2014, the Mabis journal failed to be re-accredited with a score of almost passed. Since then, Mabis journal has experienced a lack of articles. In 2015, the journal had received a grant for journal management assistance towards accreditation. In the same year, Mabis submitted an online version (OJS) with electronic number 2477-1783. The SK no. 0005.24771783/JI.3.1/SK.ISSN/2015.11 - 17 November 2015 (starting from edition Vol. 14, No. 2, July-December 2015). MABIS is accredited with Sinta 3 rank from 2017-2022, the certificate is published in 2019 (30/E/KPT/2019). Mabis now tries to get up with the online version and collect articles. In 2007 until now, the Journal is published twice a year in March and September. 

Following continuous improvements in journal governance and publication quality, MABIS was accredited at SINTA 3rd (SINTA 3/S3) out of the 6th available ranking in SINTA accreditation (Volume 21 No. 1 2022 to Volume 25 No. 2 2026, SK 204/E/KPT/2022, Period II of Journal Accreditation Ranking 2022).

As part of its ongoing development and commitment to improving academic quality, MABIS successfully achieved a higher accreditation status. Currently, MABIS is accredited at SINTA Rank 2 (SINTA 2) for the publication period from Volume 24 No. 1 (2025) to Volume 28 No. 2 (2029), based on Decree No. 295/C/C3/KPT/2026 dated January 2, 2026. This achievement marks a significant milestone in the journal’s continuous efforts to strengthen its academic reputation and international visibility.
